Medical experts from the National Social Security Institute (INSS) are going on a 24-hour strike this Wednesday (17) to demand improvements in working conditions. This will be the first of three strikes scheduled for the month of January – the other two are scheduled for the 24th and 31st.
The category asks, among other things, for a 23% salary increase, the hiring of 1,500 new experts and for the government to fulfill an agreement reached in 2022.
Despite the announcement of the strike, the policy is for the insured to attend the examination site at the scheduled time and with the documents in hand. According to lawyers specializing in social security law, if the person is absent and the doctor shows up, they miss the date and can only reschedule after 30 days.
