Parque dos Macaquinhos will host the 2nd edition of Acqua Fest on the 3rd and 4th of February, from 11am to 6pm. Promoted by the Autonomous Municipal Water and Sewage Service (Samae) and the City of Caxias do Sul, the main attraction of the event is the largest inflatable water slide in the country, with a 150-meter descent. Unlike the first edition, the toy will be set up on Rua Dr. Montaury, between Dal Canale and Dom José Barea streets. An alignment meeting with municipal departments and participating entities took place on Monday (01/08), in the Main Hall of the Administrative Center.
In addition to the giant water slide, there will be a smaller one for children under 8 years old, soap football, a mechanical surfboard, all set up inside the park’s football court, and other toys. So that children can enjoy the party’s attractions, such as the inflatable park, they will need to participate in partner activities available in tents located in the area, such as environmental and financial education games. The participation will be converted into fictitious money. The so-called “economics” are the currency of the Proconlândia project, led by Procon Caxias. To go down the giant water slide, it is suggested that you donate 1kg of non-perishable food that will be sent to the Food Bank.
According to Acqua Fest coordinator, Andréia Copini, this is an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy summer in a safe way, amid nature, while also enjoying the city. “The first edition was a success, so much so that in subsequent events the question we heard most was whether there would be a water slide. Therefore, we are organizing the second edition, completely free, with attractions for all ages. Furthermore, in partnership with Procon, we will work with recreational activities to teach people how to value money from an early age”, he details.
As in the first edition, the water used to operate the toys will be stored and used by the Municipal Department of the Environment (SEMMA) to water the flowerbeds. In addition to being sustainable, the event has a social nature. There will be haircuts, beauty services, distribution of seedlings, legal advice, dentistry and psychology services, workshops to demystify income tax declaration, among others. There will also be cultural attractions and a gastronomic area with food trucks.
