On Friday (5), the 6th edition of the Nossa Onda é Preservar project and the Animal Adoption Fair will take place in Imbé. The actions are carried out by the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment, Fisheries, Animal Protection and Agriculture (SEMMAPA) and take place from 2pm to 5pm, on the Beira-Mar promenade, between Avenidas Santa Rosa and Garibaldi.
Our Wave is to Preserve
Nossa Onda é Preserve is a project carried out by Imbé City Hall, in partnership with the State University of Rio Grande do Sul (UERGS) and the Environmental Patrol of the Military Brigade (Patram). It consists of setting up a structure to debate and clarify environmental issues with residents and vacationers, in addition to providing curiosities about the local flora and fauna, as well as raising awareness among the community regarding care for our ecosystem. The project features an exhibition of taxidermied animals and skeletons of marine animals.
Animal Adoption Fair
The Animal Adoption Fair is held by the Animal Protection Department (DEPAN), of SEMMAPA, and takes place throughout the year, but in another location in the city center. The fair aims to encourage responsible adoption and combat abandonment and mistreatment of animals. It is also possible to donate food at the fair site.
To adopt an animal, the interested party must present an identity document, CPF and proof of residence, in addition to being of legal age. The candidate will go through an interview so that they can then carry out the adoption, and will also sign a liability agreement, assuming the commitment to take care of the pet’s health, well-being and other needs.
It is important to highlight that the animals are dewormed and have castration guaranteed by the city hall, when they reach the minimum age for the procedure. Vaccinations are the responsibility of the owner.
