On Tuesday, the 12th, the Cardiology Center of the São Lucas Hospital of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), in Porto Alegre, received the Qmentum International Diamond Accreditation, from the Quality Global Alliance (QGA). Accreditation assessed quality, patient safety and sustainable corporate management in the + Cardio line.
QGA’s CEO and founding partner, Dr. Rubens Covello, was present at the certification ceremony and highlighted the importance of having quality processes and standards for the institution’s evolution.
“Being accredited means having excellent clinical governance, management by work teams, scientific evidence, lines of care, priority processes and patient safety indicators. We, at QGA, have a specific certification standard for Cardiology, and in cardiology + Cardio care at Hospital São Lucas da PUCRS, we find a well-structured line of assistance. Because of this, we implemented the pilot project of the Cardiology Center Accreditation program, a very specific area, which was a success.”
In addition to Dr. Rubens Covello, the general director of Hospital São Lucas, Saulo Mengarda, the care director, Simone Ventura, the technical director, Dr. Fabiano Ramos, the administrative-financial director, Rogério Pontes Andres, and other leaders and collaborators of the institution were present at the delivery of the certification.
According to the hospital’s general director: “Accreditation guarantees, through auditing, that we are following the principles of quality in care, guaranteeing patient safety and best care practices. Furthermore, the certification is very significant, as it validates an area as important as Cardiology, in which the need for quick and safe care is fundamental to successful patient care”, he highlights.
