Influencer Maria Sofia Valim, daughter of the mayor of Caucaia (CE), Vitor Valim, passed away this Saturday (9). The young woman was 19 years old and the cause of death was a complication after undergoing a liver transplant.
According to the politician, his eldest daughter “didn’t survive” the transplant. There are no further details of what happened. Valim thanked the organ donor family and thanked them for the prayers and affection dedicated to him and his family.
Businesswoman Gaída Dias, the young woman’s mother, used social media to comment on Maria Sofia’s death, highlighting that they also chose to donate her organs to give hope to other people.
– My daughter will be a light in the lives of many young people. And what comforts my heart, right now, is knowing that other people will have hope to live. If God wanted it this way, even with all the sadness, I accept and obey his will. I will really miss my girl, companion and messy girl. I was your number 1 fan. The mayor reported on Tuesday (5) that his daughter had a “serious health situation” that made her join the liver transplant queue. He asked her followers for prayers.
Two days later, the politician reported that there was a compatible donor. The operation took place on Thursday (7) and doctors asked for 48 hours to find out whether or not the body would accept the donated organ.
Sofia’s wake and burial will be restricted to the family and the location where the funeral ceremonies will take place has not been announced.
