Canoas opens the 2023 season of the traditional Solidarity Economy Christmas Fair on Monday (11). It continues until December 23rd, on Rua Tiradentes, between Rua 15 de Janeiro and Avenida Getúlio Vargas, always from 9am to 7pm. More than 130 artisans will participate in the event, distributed across 30 stalls, offering a wide variety of products.
Among the product alternatives, the population of Canoe will find handicrafts, flowers, ornamental plants, vegetables, as well as food items, among others. Visitors will also be given gifts during the event by the organizers. On December 22nd, at 6pm, there will be a draw for Christmas gifts for fair customers.
According to the director of Solidarity Economy and Support for Cooperatives at the Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development, Tourism and Innovation (SMDETI), Felipe Nogueira dos Santos, the Christmas fair aims to promote income generation and strengthen the local economy. “Solidarity economy fairs attract consumers, entrepreneurs and future artisans, generating a flow of people to occupy public spaces and encouraging the city’s socioeconomic development,” he states.
The event is organized by Canoas City Hall in partnership with the Canoense Solidarity Economy Forum. The activity is part of the municipality’s Official Calendar of Events.
