With the end of the presidential elections in Argentina, hotels in Santa Catarina are optimistic about the demand for reservations. More than 50% of vacancies in hotels in Greater Florianópolis are already reserved for January. Argentines, worried about pre-election uncertainties, brought forward their reservations for the summer. According to Luciano Pereira Oliveira, president of the Union of Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Similar Products in the region (SHRBS), since June there has been a large flow of reservations from Argentines.
Some tourists chose to pay in advance and guarantee their vacation, avoiding possible setbacks resulting from the election result. Oliveira believes that, even during this transition phase, the impact on those who already planned to visit Santa Catarina will not be significant.
Last season, more than 154 thousand Argentines visited the state. Now, with the election concluded, the flow of hermanos tourists is expected to be even greater compared to the previous summer.
