The fifth edition of Transforma – Santa Catarina Diversity Film Festival starts this Wednesday (22), at the Integrated Culture Center (CIC), in Florianópolis.
Recognized as one of the most important LGBTQIAPN+ audiovisual windows in the country, Transforma will show free of charge until November 28th, more than 100 national and foreign films, including shorts and feature films, in addition to offering a series of parallel activities, such as themed panels , training workshops, cultural presentations and arts fair.
Competitive show
A major highlight of the program, the V Transforma Competitive Exhibition will feature a record participation of 64 national short films, originating from all regions of Brazil.
Divided into thematic screenings, these films will be evaluated by a committee of experts and the public present, at the end of each session.
The winning productions will be announced during the festival’s closing ceremony on November 28th and will receive the coveted “Golden Unicorn Trophy”.
International showcase
For the first time in its history, the festival will include the screening of international short films. With more than 800 entries, the organization selected 30 titles, from Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Philippines, France, Netherlands, Hungary, Israel, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom.
Feature films
Outside the competitive circuit, V Transforma will present seven Brazilian feature films at the end of the sessions.
The most plural festival in southern Brazil
Produced by BAPHO Cultural in partnership with the Association in Defense of Human Rights with a Focus on Sexuality (ADEH), V Transforma is a project financed by the Catarinense Cinema Award (2022 edition), from the Government of the State of Santa Catarina, via the Foundation Santa Catarina de Cultura (FCC). The event also has the support of the Museum of Image and Sound of Santa Catarina (MIS/SC).
