Ballet Concerto is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special show titled “Walpurgis Night.” This three-day event, which will take place from December 1st to 3rd at Teatro Renascença, promises to be an exciting journey through the company’s history.
The first act of the show will present the Pas de Deux of renowned ballets such as “La Bayadère”, “Raymonda”, “Swan Lake”, “Primary Waters” and “Coppélia”. In the second act, the full cast will gather for the revival of “Walpurgis Night”, a suite from the opera “Faust” by Charles Gounod. This work is a celebration of sensuality and joy, with fauns, maenads and Nubians dancing in honor of life and earthly pleasures.
In addition, the show will feature performances by dancers presenting original pieces of Contemporary Dance and Modern Dance by Martha Graham.
Founded in 1993, Ballet Concerto aims to promote the professionalization of classical dance in the performing arts in Rio Grande do Sul. The company, which has already won several regional, national and international competitions, has worked with more than 500 artists/students, including Leslie Heyllmann, first soloist at Hamburg Ballet (Germany), and Marlúcia do Amaral, main soloist at Ballett Am Rhein Düsseldorf (Germany).
Since its foundation, Ballet Concerto has been led by Victória Milanez, general and artistic director, and Claudia Corrêa, cultural production coordinator.
