A University of Santa Cruz do Sul (Unisc) welcomed more than two thousand candidates from 253 municipalities in 9 Brazilian states and the Federal District in its 2024 Summer Entrance Exam, held on Saturday, November 18th. Candidates ranged in age from 14 to 60 years old, with an average age between 17 and 20 years old.
The most popular courses were Medicine, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Psychology, Biomedicine and Computer Science. The academic dean, Rolf Fredi Molz, highlighted the presence of candidates from other states in all courses, not just Medicine. He attributed this to the recent maximum score obtained by Unisc in all 48 indicators evaluated by the MEC.
The rector of Unisc, Rafael Frederico Henn, predicts a 5% increase in the number of students attending in-person graduation next year. He cited the Viva Unisc event as an indication of student interest.
The essay topics varied depending on the course and campus. For Medicine, the themes were: Decriminalization of marijuana and public health; Toxic masculinity and the high rate of self-extermination among men; and Singing as a form of verbal aggression.
The results of the entrance exam will be published on the Unisc website. For other courses, the list of approved courses will be published on Monday, 20th, at 3 pm. For Medicine, the list will be published on Wednesday, 22nd, at 3 pm.
Registration for other courses will be carried out online between November 21st and 27th. For Medicine, enrollment will take place at the Customer Service Center, in block 1 of the Santa Cruz do Sul campus, on November 27th.
The candidates came from states such as Amazonas, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
