To celebrate its 90th anniversary, accessories brand Fiszpan created a collection of wigs with beauty artist Fernando Torquatto. The wigs were made with cutting-edge technology, contemporary cuts, textures, colors, lengths, styles and lots of fashion information.
Inspired by the glamor of Italian cinema, Fernando brought a mix of what was shown in international fashion weeks and applied it to Rio’s lifestyle and bossa. With the aim of creating a beauty experience for everyone, the result of the collaboration can be seen in the five wigs with their shade variations. “Our idea is to transform the use of wigs as a fashion and beauty accessory”, adds Fernando.
90 years of success
Fiszpan has been on a successful journey spanning 90 years. It all started in the 1930s, in a two-story house on Rua Sete de Setembro, in the center of Rio de Janeiro. An excellent spot, where the cream of Rio society, politicians, artists and intellectuals met. Maurício Fiszpan came from Poland, created the brand and innovated the market by selling wigs and handmade hairpieces.
“They were lighter, anti-allergenic wigs, which continue to follow the most modern techniques and the main fashion trends. From the 1980s onwards, we added barrettes and hair clips to the product mix. This was the starting point for a broader line of women’s accessories that includes bags, hats, belts and others”, says Solange Fiszpan, Mauricio’s daughter who heads the business.
