In a move to improve the identification of public places and generate additional revenue, the mayor of Caxias do Sul, Adiló Didomenico, sanctioned a new law this Tuesday (07/11). The law allows the municipality to grant services for the installation, maintenance and operation of identification signs in public places.
The Municipal Department of Public Works and Services (SMOSP) will be responsible for managing and supervising the concession contract. The new law also allows the exploitation of advertising on identification plates, which are part of the Transport and Urban Mobility Master Plan. The Secretariat for Strategic Partnerships was responsible for creating the bill.
Matheus Neres da Rocha, Secretary of Strategic Partnerships, expressed his enthusiasm with the new law. He believes the law will provide the necessary legal support for a street sign grant project. He also highlighted that the new law will make Caxias do Sul a more welcoming city for citizens and visitors, facilitating orientation and identification of the city’s roads.
Before signing the law, Mayor Adiló Didomenico shared a personal experience about the difficulty of finding an address without adequate signage. He believes that the new law will solve this problem, allowing the installation of identification signs throughout the municipality. The law was approved by the City Council.
