The 7th edition of Rua Aberta, which would take place next Sunday, November 12th, was moved to the 19th. The change was necessary due to the second day of exams for the National High School Exam (Enem), which takes place on the same date.
The event, which is held by the City of Gravataí, through the departments of Family, Citizenship and Social Assistance (SMFCAS) and Economic Development and Tourism (SMDET), takes place on Avenida Dorival de Oliveira, in front of Parcão, at stop 79.
As the event takes place close to schools where hundreds of students will take the Enem test, it is prohibited to block streets and hold shows or musical performances that could disrupt the exam.
The new date for Rua Aberta is Sunday, November 19th, starting at 9am. The event will feature exhibitors of crafts, gastronomy, typical products and cultural presentations.
Acting mayor Dr. Levi Melo explains that the change was made to ensure the safety and comfort of event participants and students who will take the Enem test. “We believe that this is the best way to carry out Rua Aberta, without harming any of the parties involved”, he says.
