The Financial Inspection and Control Committee (CFFC) of the Chamber of Deputies approved three requests for the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, to appear before the committee and provide information on the decision to include children aged six months to five years in the priority group to receive the vaccine against Covid-19.
The invitation for the minister to go to the committee was scheduled for 11/28, starting at 1:30 pm.
All requests are signed by parliamentarians: Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ). The commission also approved a fourth request, from Bia Kicis (PL-DF), to hold a public hearing on the topic.
Immunizers against Covid-19 were incorporated into the National Immunization Program (PNI) by the Ministry of Health, resulting in annual vaccination by the Unified Health System (SUS) of only priority groups.
In addition to children, the target audience also involves vulnerable groups such as the elderly; immunocompromised; pregnant and postpartum women; health workers; people with comorbidities; indigenous, riverside and quilombola communities; people in long-term care institutions and workers; people with permanent disabilities; people deprived of liberty; adolescents and young people complying with socio-educational measures; employees of the deprivation of liberty system; and people living on the streets.
