The Epidemiological Surveillance of the Rio Grande Health Department recorded an alarming increase in the number of cases of Covid-19, with almost 100 new cases confirmed this Friday (10/27/2023). The weekly bulletin revealed a total of 98 cases, of which three patients are hospitalized and the rest in isolation.
The Department of Health has insisted on the need to intensify preventive measures against Covid-19. Secretary Zelionara Branco (Health) emphasized the importance of vaccination against Covid-19, especially given the significant increase in cases in several Brazilian states, including Rio Grande do Sul.
“At this moment, the data alerts us to adopt control and prevention measures, aiming to reduce the epidemiological situation”, stated the secretary. Recommendations include washing your hands regularly, covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, seeking a healthcare facility if you experience respiratory symptoms, wearing a mask if you experience any flu-like symptoms, maintaining isolation if diagnosed with Covid-19, drinking plenty of water and keep environments ventilated.
