The inauguration of the first electronic clock in Caxias do Sul by concession was scheduled for 11 am this Saturday (21.10). But anyone who passed by the location ahead of time, on the corner of Doutor Montaury and Sinimbu streets, could already connect to Wi-Fi for free on their cell phone. The clock and advertising board were turned on after the brief opening ceremony.
“We’ve had other experiences, but now electronic watches are reaching another level. Caxias begins a new stage with an international company that has the know-how and expertise to bring major investors and advertisers to our city. The beginning of the installation of the clocks came together with the beginning of our video monitoring, which will guarantee greater security for our city”, celebrated Mayor Adiló Didomenico.
Clear Channel Brasil, the company that won the concession competition, will install a total of 40 clocks in the municipality, within a period of 24 months. In the next 60 days the city will already have 9 more pieces of equipment in operation. The clocks’ features include time, date, temperature marking, ultraviolet radiation measurement and a panel for displaying messages of public interest and advertising. Furthermore, of the total, 18 clocks will have video monitoring cameras, which will be operated by the Security Secretariat, and five clocks will have free Wi-Fi points.
Clear Channel’s Development Director, Thiago Gadelha Alves, stated that the company is very satisfied with the partnership. “Caxias do Sul is a very important city in our company’s expansion plan in Rio Grande do Sul. We already have large national companies interested in advertising here, which illustrates the importance of the city.”
The investment is completely private, with no cost to public coffers. The concessionaire offered more than 2 million reais for the right to the concession. From the moment it begins advertising the space, the company will also pay the municipality 2.5% of its gross revenue over the 20 years of the concession. These resources will be allocated to the Department of Public Works and Services. The municipality will still have 5% of the advertising space for institutional information. The first campaign that will be run is the multi-vaccination campaign in force in the city.
Also present at the inauguration were vice-mayor Paula Ioris, the secretaries of Strategic Partnerships Matheus Neres da Rocha, of Public Works and Services Norberto Soletti, of the Environment João Uez, of Traffic, Transport and Mobility, Alfonso Willenbring Jr., of Government , Flávio Cassina, the chief of staff, Grégora Fortuna dos Passos, and the municipality’s attorney general, Adriano Taca. Also the president of the City Council, José Dambrós, and councilors Adriano Bressan, Gilfredo De Camillis and Lucas Diel, the latter the government leader.
