The event – The IV Highlights of the Architecture Biennials, which was previously held at the Integrated Culture Center (CIC), now reaches its fourth edition. This event will feature a cycle of in-person and virtual lectures given by architects and urban planners, as well as a significant virtual exhibition of projects by prominent professionals in the field.
In-person Programming
The in-person event will take place between October 17th and 20th. The opening ceremony will be held at the Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE), next to Espaço Primavera, on SC-401, with two lectures. The first will be taught by Brazilian Marcelo Gomes, director of the Pedra Branca group, who will discuss the new urban project in Joinville – the City of Waters. Afterwards, internationally awarded Paraguayan architect Solano Benitez will make his presentation.
Virtual Lectures
The virtual lectures will be held from October 23rd, on the IV DBA YouTube channel. These lectures will be illustrated with videos, photos, drawings and sketches, making them more interactive and engaging.
Organization and Support
This event is an initiative of the Brazilian Association of Architecture Offices/SC (ASBEA/SC), the Institute of Architects of Brazil/SC (IAB/SC) and the Architects Union of Santa Catarina. The event is curated by journalist and architecture critic Vicente Wissenbach.
Future of the Event
From this edition onwards, the event will be held every two years, under the name of Santa Catarina International Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. This will be the second biennial of the sector in the country.
