Between the 20th and 22nd of October, São Francisco de Paula will host the 2nd Serra Gaúcha Choro Festival, a great celebration of culture and genuine Brazilian popular music.
With free and open-air programming, the Festival aims to bring together music lovers, tourists and the local community to enjoy the choro melodies and enjoy the natural and cultural beauties of the region.
In addition to the shows, the event will feature a series of educational workshops in municipal schools and workshops for musicians, allowing students and music enthusiasts to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Brazilian music.
On Friday (20) night, the city will be lit up with the opening show, followed by Noite Brasileira, where the rhythms of Choro invite everyone to dance. On Saturday (21), musicians will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop focused on Brazilian music. A series of presentations will culminate with a show by singer Francineth Germano. With musical roots in Rio Grande do Norte and a brilliant career in Rio de Janeiro, Francineth won the hearts of Brazilians with her unique voice and her passion for samba. Sponsored by Elizeth Cardoso, the “Lady of Samba”, her performance promises to be one of the highlights of the festival.
On Sunday (22), the Festival ends with a large choro circle, a moment of fraternization where musicians and lovers of the genre come together to play, celebrate and share their passion for Choro, with the public.
