The World Health Organization, WHO, started to recommend the dengue vaccine developed by the Japanese pharmaceutical company Takeda, known as Qdenga. The vaccine was approved by Anvisa in March this year for people aged 4 to 60.
In July, the Ministry of Health said the vaccine still needed to be analyzed before being incorporated into the public system. The Lula government’s priority in this regard is an immunizer that has been produced by the Butantan Institute since 2009. The vaccine has not even had its research completed and may only be released by Anvisa in 2025.
