As of this Tuesday (3.Oct), 38 health plans from ten operators will have their sales temporarily suspended by the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS), due to complaints related to healthcare coverage made by consumers about them in the second quarter .
ANS emphasizes that the suspension is part of the Service Guarantee Monitoring, “which regularly monitors the sector’s performance and works to protect consumers”.
According to the agency, with the ban on the sale of 38 plans, 394,313 beneficiaries are protected, as sales to new customers can only be resumed if the operators show an improvement in monitoring results.
The monitoring considered 58,035 complaints made in the period from April 1st to June 30th, 2023. Based on them, it determined not only the suspension regarding the 38 plans, but also the authorization to resume the sale of another 12.
Among the plans that will have their sale suspended from this 3rd, are seven from the Federation of Medical Work Cooperative Societies of Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia and Roraima; one from Unimed Vertente do Caparó – Medical Work Cooperative; one from Atívia Serviços de Saúde; seven from Alvorecer – Mutual Aid Association; one from Unimed Maranhão do Sul – Medical Work Cooperative; two from Unihosp Saúde; 16 from Unimed-Rio Medical Work Cooperative of Rio de Janeiro; one from Santo André Medical Assistance Plans; one from the Cruz Azul Saúde Supplementary Health Assistance Association; and one from Santa Rita Health System.
