CSI: Vegas arrives in Brazil exclusively on AXN on October 5th, Thursday, at 10pm. The new spin-off brings back old characters and even more complex challenges, which will drive fans of the world’s most famous criminal investigation franchise crazy after seven years without new episodes.
CSI: Vegas is a continuation of the successful CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, a production from the 2000s that follows the investigations of a group of forensic scientists from the criminalistics department of the Las Vegas police, in the United States. The program popularized the genre around the world, becoming the most watched series in the USA in 2005 and winning six Emmy awards in more than a decade of history.
After seven years without new episodes, the team is back, with a threat that puts the crime laboratory in danger and calls into question cases solved in the past. The new team of investigators returns to the city of sin, where it all began, and will implement cutting-edge forensic techniques to preserve and serve justice there.
Gil Grissom
The series also features established characters that have marked generations of fans. Gil Grissom (William Petersen), forensic entomologist and head of the Las Vegas Crime Laboratory in the first nine seasons of the original program, will come out of retirement that began in 2008 and return to the laboratory after a good friend suffers an attack and needs his help.
Sarah Sidle
Also back is Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox). She had resigned as director of the Laboratory to reunite with her ex-husband Grissom, but the same situation makes her return to the team in search of justice and answers.
Team
The veterans will join Maxine “Max” Roby (Paula Newsome), night shift supervisor at the Laboratory and current commander of the CSIs, and Joshua Folsom (Matt Lauria), a level III investigator who leads forensic cases. Completing the team are Allie Rajan (Mandeep Dhillon), an immigrant who leaves for Las Vegas to fulfill her dream of becoming a CSI level II, and Chris Park (Jay Lee), level I who will help the team with the new challenges.
CSI: Vegas, created by Anthony E. Zuiker, arrives on AXN on October 5th at 10pm.
