Tupperware® announces the launch of the collection with indigenous illustrator, Winny Tapajós Costa, in everyday products that transform into collectible works of art.
This partnership represents a commitment to valuing indigenous art and culture, as well as respect for sustainability in a unique fusion between art, culture and functionality.
Born in Palmas, capital of Tocantins, Winny brings her personal insights and experiences to the creative process, infusing each print with elements that celebrate the richness of her cultural heritage. Winny, who belongs to the Tapajós people, originally from the Karidade village located in the Cobra Grande indigenous territory, in Santarém (PA).
He brought to Tocantins his passion for art and his dedication to giving visibility to people and cultures that often remain invisible. At 26 years old and with a degree in architecture and urbanism from the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT), Winny began her journey creating prints in 2020 and since then has sought to collaborate with companies that share her concern for sustainability and cultural preservation.
“My inspiration came from the region where I currently live, Tocantins, within the cerrado biome. I like to incorporate local elements into my projects, believing that disseminating the beauty of these elements allows residents to feel represented and helps other people learn a little more about our culture. Our biome is incredibly rich, full of enchanting wonders. And I love the idea of allowing people here to have products printed with elements that are part of their context,” comments Winny.
