On October 3rd, Blumenau will host an exclusive event dedicated to discussions about economics and ESG. The Meeting ‘Economy in Debate: Strong companies build the future’ aims to increase discussions on the economic perspectives and impacts of Tax Reform and ESG policies for companies.
The debate will be divided into two parts:
The first will be Talk Economy: Economic – Financial Perspectives and Tax Reform for Companies, which will address the implementation of economic measures to restore investor confidence, promote sustainable growth and stimulate job creation. This process encompasses the revitalization of key sectors, the stimulation of innovation and entrepreneurship, the strengthening of the productive, commercial and services sectors.
The second part will feature Talk ESG: Demystifying ESG and its impacts on business. Economy, technology and sustainability go hand in hand. In this talk, panelists will explore how the latest trends and innovations are shaping the future of the planet and the benefits for businesses and society.
One of the highlights among the debaters is Fiesp advisor and chief economist at Banco Master, Paulo Gala. During the explanation, Gala will address the good outlook for the Brazilian economy from the interest rate cut, inflation convergence and accelerated growth, in addition to talking about economic opportunities for Santa Catarina. “In my opinion, Santa Catarina is the State best positioned to benefit from the clean transition of renewable energy, climate and energy transition. It is the cradle of green innovation companies in Brazil, not just an industrial hub. Santa Catarina also has hundreds of industrial companies that are working on the climate and energy transition, a topic of great discussion around the world,” he says. In addition to him, the CEO of Haco, Alberto Lowndes, the partner and head of Capital Advisory at KPMG in Brazil, Alan Riddell, and the president of the Fiesc Foreign Trade Chamber, Maria Teresa Bustamante, will be joining the debate on Economy. The mediator will be Marcello Stewers, CEO of Black Sky.
Participating in Talk ESG will be the founder of Renature, Felipe Vilella, the director of People, Processes and Sustainability at Engie Brasil, Luiana Nabarrete, the head of Têxtil Moda at Fiesc and manager of the Hermann Hering Foundation, Amélia Malheiros, and the master in Constitutional Law and independent advisor Mara Denise Poffo Wilhelm. The mediation will be carried out by the president of Lide Mulher/SC, Larissa Linhares. The importance of discussing this topic, according to Amélia Malheiros, is that the great challenge of this century lies in the search for balance in the use of the planet’s resources. ‘In the environmental area, the development of technologies to produce with less impact holds a lot of promise. But we are far from definitive solutions. Circularity as a production model partially answers this complicated equation. In the social sphere, the challenges are equally great. We live with three generations in the job market and each one presents specific drivers and challenges. Thus, the ESG tripod has become a mandatory agenda in all spheres of society. Each of us, companies, employees and consumers have to understand and act looking for solutions that allow us and future generations access to a healthy life on this planet ‘, she points out.
The event’s curator, Mara Poffo Wilhelm, representative of Contax Contabilidade, explains that the initiative seeks to share ideas and business perspectives, provide information and promote discussions about the country’s economic situation and the tax reforms on the agenda, in addition to offering a modern perspective on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). This is the fifth edition of the Meeting. In 2022, the event brought together 250 businesspeople in Blumenau
“Banco Master de Investimento recognizes the great relevance of the State of Santa Catarina for the country’s economy.
